The great ship Hector. There is a replica of the Hector on the waterfront in Pictou. This ship transported many of the original Scottish immigrants to Pictou County.

The Westray Mine Disaster Memorial. A memorial sits in a park in New Glasgow at the approximate location above ground where 11 of the 26 miners, who lost their lives as a result of an underground explosion in the Westray mine in 1992, remain underground.
